Welcome to Hastings Gateway

Located at the junction of Wauchope railway line and Oxley Highway the Hastings Gateway initiative’s intention is for community participation in the restoration and development of the Wauchope Historic Courthouse, Police Station and Station Masters Residence located at 59 Randall St Wauchope NSW 2446.

Initial Gateway projects are:

  • Restoration of the heritage- listed Wauchope Historic Courthouse, Police Station and Station Masters Residence…. currently in action 
  • Construction of a Memorial Garden around the historic building …first plans drafted
  • Cafe construction… remains waiting in the wings!

Some of the future projects are outlined in the “Future Projects” page.

Hastings Gateway is managed by a Board of Directors chosen on the basis of their business and professional skills and with knowledge of local community needs. Community involvement and support is paramount to the restoration and development of the site as a place for the community to come together.

Halloween Haunts – Family fun, games & treats

Over three days: Thurs 31 Oct, Fri 1 Nov and Sat 2 Nov 2024 (60 minutes sessions – 5pm & 7pm)

Calling all little witches, wizards, ghosts, and goblins! Join us for an exciting, fun and family-friendly Halloween celebration. Our spooktacular sessions are filled with fun, adventure, and just the right amount of fright!

Step into the Haunted House where brave adventurers can experience spooky thrills in every room. Each twist and turn is filled with fun surprises and interactive elements.

Using the Explorer card that is issued on arrival, attendees can make their way around the line-up of activities, getting creative and challenging their friends and family in some fang-tastic games. There will Halloween-themed games to keep everyone in the spooky spirit.

This event is perfect for families looking for a safe, engaging, and festive way to celebrate Halloween. Whether your little ones are looking to explore the Haunted House, try some tasty treats, or participate in hands-on activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. While the event is designed for kids aged 4-12 yrs, all are welcome and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are limited, so be sure to grab yours early and make this Halloween one to remember! Come dressed in your best costumes, ready for an adventure of thrills, chills, and endless fun. We can’t wait to see you there!

Next OPEN DAY – Sat 16 November 2024, 10am – 2pm

Drop in on the Sat 16 August Open Day and learn about the Wauchope Station Master’s Residence (previously Police Station and Courthouse).

The Hastings Gateway, a not for profit established to work towards restoring and securing the future of the Station Master’s Residence for the benefit of our community, looks forward to welcoming you with a cuppa, and a walk-through of this heritage listed property. Currently the goals are to raise awareness and fundraise for this project. There is plenty to be done and we need community support to do it!

While you visit, enjoy the “Coming of the Rail” photo exhibition and other historical displays. Thanks to the Wauchope District Historical Society who join us in period dress, sharing our local history.
